After two men accused of stealing a bronze statue of a pig from the EastLake Village MarketPlace in Eastern Chula Vista has returned. Last night workers reinstalled it back in front of the Bank of America and Miguel’s Cocina at the MarketPlace.The pig is still covered up.The center plans a “Welcome home Eastlake’s Favorite Pig”celebration on May 2nd.

6:51 am - April 23, 2009Car Crashes Into Parked Cars and A House In Mission Hills

Two men are in the hospital this morning after crashing their car into two parked cars and a house in Mission Hills. It happened around 4a.m. at a house on Arista Court. Police say the driver and his friend took their stepfather’s car for a joyride. On their way back home the driver lost control and crashed the car. Police found the car standing on its hood, leaning against the house. The two were not badly hurt.

San Diego Police are investigating the discovery of a body found near the Washington Street exit of southbound Interstate 5, Sunday night.

Cal Fire crews have put out a bruch fire in San Marcos, according to our crew at the scene. The fire broke out about an hour ago near the intersection of North Twin Oaks Rad and Quarry Road. No homes were damaged.

Robert Juarez would have been 29 today. His friends and family gathered Saturday to remember him and remind the public that his killer has not been arrested. Juarez was shot outside his Barrio Logan home last July.

A Sig Alert has been issued for Northbound I-5 just north of Carlsbad Village Drive due to an injury accident involving 3 cars. At this time the number 4 lane and the right shoulder are blocked. Lanes 1 through 3 are open. An ambulance has just taken the injured people to Tricity medical center. Sky10 is headed to the scene, and will bring you more on this accident.

5:56 am - April 15, 2009Sig Alert Issued For Northbound 805 At Imperial Ave

UPDATE: 10NEWS HAS LEARNED A CHILD TAKEN TO RADY CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL FROM THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT HAS DIED. THE IMPERIAL AVENUE OFFRAMP REMAINS CLOSED AT THIS TIME. SKY10 IS ON THE SCENE AND WILL BRING YOU MORE INFORMATION AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.

A Sig Alert has been issued for Northbound 805 at the Imperial Avenue offramp due to a serious injury accident. Two cars collided on the offramp shortly after 5a.m. The CHP says one of the cars was going the wrong way. An ambulance has been called to the scene, and 10news has learned one of the drivers has been taken to Mercy Hospital.

3:55 pm - April 12, 2009Cliff Rescue In Sunset Cliffs

Lifeguards rescued two men that suffered serious injuries when they fell 50 feet from the edge of a cliff near the Ladera Street.

A San Diego Fire-Rescue helicopter lifted the individuals, who were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

5:55 pm - April 11, 2009Plane Crashed East Of MCAS Miramar

UPDATE: 10News reporter, Sonia Azad will have more information in our 6 p.m. newscast

Emergency crews are responding to a report of a plane crash east of MCAS Miramar, according to a dispatcher for the San Diego Fire Department. Initial reports indicated it is a small civilian plane.
