Firefighters are still battling a wildfire in Pala which has burned 122 acres and damaged three homes. The fire started yesterday around 3p.m. off Highway 76. The full extent of the damage is unknown at this time, and the cause is being investigated. Full containment is expected around mid- morning. 10news reporter Jennifer Jensen has been checking with Calfire all morning to bring you the latest information as it becomes available.

Firefighters are working to contain a brush fire near state Highway 76 and Couser Canyon in Pala. The fire was reported just after 3:30 Sunday afternoon.

Two firefighting copters are providing aerial support. We have a news crew enroute and will have more information as it becomes available.

San Diego fire crews are responding to a grass fire in Mission Valley. The fire broke out about half an hour ago near Ambrosia Drive. The fire is burining in a grassy area East of I-15, and North of Friars Road. A SDFD fire dispatcher says there structures are not threatened.

9:19 pm - May 17, 20095.0 Earthquake Reported Off Long Beach

An earthquake with a recorded magnitude of 5.0 occurred just after 8:30 p.m.. It was centered in Lennox, a community in the Greater Los Angeles area. There are no reports of damage or injuries at this time.

Callers from north San Diego county reported feeling a rolling sensation.

5:58 am - May 15, 2009Recycling Plant Burns In Otay Mesa

Firefighters are keeping careful watch over a fire at a recycling center in Otay Mesa. Several people reported seeing flames around 1141 p.m. at the center on 8600 Lone Star Road. It took firefighters more than an hour to gain control over the fire because of the recycling center’s location.
The cause of the fire is being investigated. No injuries were reported.

6:13 am - May 13, 2009House Burns In National City

Four people managed to escape their burning home in National City this morning. Firefighters were called to the converted garage on 20th street, near E Street around 1 o’clock. Firefighters say a neighbor saw flames shooting from the roof of the home, rushed to wake up the people who live there, then called 911. A dog also made it out of the burning home. No one was hurt. Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.

5:58 am - May 13, 2009Plaza Bonita Game Stop Robbed

National City police are searching for two men who forced their way into the Game Stop store on Plaza Bonita Road, tied up the employees then robbed the store. It happened around 9:30 last night, half an hour after the store closed. One of the robbers was armed with a handgun, which he used to force the employees to the back of the store. Once there the employees were bound. One worker was pistol whipped in the head but didn’t need medical attention. The robbers took merchandise and money from the store’s cash register then took off.
