Cash Closes Del Dios Hwy

UPDATE– One person was killed in the crash, according to a dispatcher for Rancho Fire.

Del Dios Highway is closed between Calle Ambiente and Rancho Drive because of a crash involving a cement truck, according to the CHP. The crash happened at about 11:45 Saturday morning. The road is expected to be closed until about 2 p.m.

Torrey Pines Bluff Gives Way

Lifeguards are responding to a bluff collapse at Torrey Pines State Reserve, according to a state lifeguard official. The collapse happened around 10:30 this morning near the area known as Bathtub Rock. At this time there is no reason to believe anyone is trapped; however, search dogs from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department are being brought in to locate possible victims.

Jumper From Mission Bay Cruise Boat Missing

Lifeguards and divers from several agencies are searching Mission Bay for a La Jolla man who dove off the Bahia Belle with two friends early Sunday, but failed to make it to shore, a San Diego lifeguard

Fatal Trolley Accident Under Investigation

Chula Vista police and investigators with the Metropolitan Transit System are at the scene of an accident between a trolley and bicyclist. It happened at “L” street trolley crossing in Chula Vista just after 6:30 p.m.

A witness at the scene told 10News the bicyclist attempted to cross the tracks as the trolley approached. A spokeswoman with MTS told 10news the warning system to alert motorists of a approaching train was working at the time of the accident.

La Mesa Police Search For Shooting Suspect

LA Mesa police are searching for a man involved in a shooting at the Grossmont Center trolley station. The shooting was reported just before 10:30 p.m.

Early reports indicate the victim suffered multiple gun shot wounds. Grossmont Center was placed on lockdown as police search the area for the suspect.

Santee Brush Fire Under Control

Firefighters were called to a vegetation fire in the 9500 block of Magnolia Avenue in Santee just after 4 p.m. A dispatcher with Heartland Fire District told 10News the fire has been knocked down. No structures were threatened. The acreage burned and the cause are not known at this time.

Water Main Breaks Disrupt Service in Talmadge

For the second time Sunday a water main break has been reporteed in Talmadge. The most recent break occurred shortly after 3 p.m. at the intersection of 54th Street and Orange Avenue.

Shortly before 8 a.m. as many as 10 houses and three apartment buildings lost service when a break occurred at 46th and Norwood Street.

Beach Parking Lots Already Full

The San Diego Police Department reports that all beach parking lots are full on this busy 4th of July holiday. They are asking that people follow the directions of traffic officers.

Police Investigate Homicide In San Ysidro

San Diego police are looking into the suspicious death of a woman in San Ysidro. It happened around 12:30 this morning at an apartment complex on 2009 Dairy Mary Mart Road. Police say they found a 32 year old woman stabbed to death. 10news reporter Carole Sullivan is live at the gated complex with the very latest on this story. 100- Foot Tree Downs Power Lines In Casa De Oro

UPDATE: THE CHP HAS JUST ISSUED A SIG ALERT FOR THE AREA.

A downed tree is causing problems for a Casa De Oro neighborhood. The tree fell around 0514 this morning at 10002 Buena Vista Drive. A Heartland Fire dispatcher says the 100- foot long, 5- feet wide tree fell across power lines, and knocked off a fire hydrant before falling onto the road. Right now South Barcelona is blocked off at W Buena Vista due to flooding. SDG&E is headed to the scene due to concerns of live wires. Also, city crews have just shut off water from the hydrant. Sky10 and Jennifer Correia are on their way…
